I wanted to share a fun before-and-after from a recent family session that shows just how much of a difference a few days—and a little editing—can make!
This sweet family booked their spring photo session at the perfect time: right as the Bradford Pear trees were blooming. These trees are absolutely magical when they’re covered in white blossoms. But spring doesn’t wait around—by the time our session rolled around, the white flowers had already started to fade, and fresh green leaves were starting to take over.
In person, the trees were still beautiful (and the family looked amazing!), but I knew the original vision included that dreamy all-white backdrop. So when I got home and started editing, I decided to give the photo a little extra love.
On the right, you can see the final image after editing. I brightened the scene, added some warmth and glow, and brought back the feel of those white blossoms. It’s subtle, but it helps the photo feel like it was taken in that perfect spring window.
This is one of the many reasons I love photography—being able to preserve a memory the way it felt, even if nature had slightly different plans. 🌸✨
If you’ve ever worried about your session landing at the "almost but not quite" moment of the season, don’t stress! I’ve got you covered. A little bit of magic goes a long way.
