Happy Sunday!!!
I am trying something new: Weekly BTS Wrap up.
This is just a way for me to share with you all in one place what has been happening at M.Gioeli Photography, behind the scenes and my life over the last week.
This week has been anything but normal. I didn't have any shoots other than assisting with a newborn session. I did do a lot of work in my business with planning, scheduling content and making decisions haha.
Monday - Kids were supposed to go back to school and ... hello...rain fell from the sky and turned to ice in some areas. So, naturally school closed! I would rather everyone be safe than sorry so, I am glad our schools called it. I did spend the morning with a close photography friend and we knocked out some work that we needed to get done at my favorite coffee shop, Maddie Cakes in Advance. Luckily the roads were clear enough that evening and I was able to make it to my nephew's first basketball game. If you are in the Davie County area I highly recommend checking out our Recreation & Parks for your kids activities and sports.
Tuesday - Another day of bad road conditions, so the school had a 2 hour delay. My husband and I spent most of the day in meetings which is not the most fun way to spend the day together. However, I did force myself to leave the house after 5:00pm and make it to our monthly Goal Getters meeting. I am so glad I attended because there was several great speakers and I meet so many new business owners including: iMoves Mangagement, Serina Weldon Photography, FotoGenic Photobooth, Peace, Purpose & Wellness, Kendall Sharpe Designs and Jobana Impressions. I am excited to meet with each of these business owners 1:1 and get to know them better and find ways to help each other. The meeting was also good to see familar faces!
Wednesday - Unfortunately my littlest hasn't been feeling great to although kids went back to school today, my little guy stayed home. So my plans for the day had to shift. I take this as a blessing though that I can shift my day, tasks & appointments. My sister met me at my house and we went for a walk, and boy was it cold! I did have a meeting with my health coach, Tiffany **Highly recommend her anytime I can** via zoom, as well as a business owner who I absolutely love working with. More on this business later, but she did sign on to work with me again in 2025 to help her create content for her business. The day ended getting my nails done!
Thursday - Thursday morning I meet my good friend Kim Shouse at her beautiful studio in Clemmons for a newborn session. I help Kim with her newborns and it has been such a wonderful collaboration. I still photograph newborns but more lifestyle than posed with props. As soon as I wrapped up with her I jumped on a zoom with another business (again....more on this later) who also signed on for me to help her create photos for her social media content. I am so excited to work with her and already sent her several ideas for her upcoming photo session.
Friday - Luckily the school canceled school and informed us on Thursday. Super lazy day, although I did get my 10,000 steps. I started the morning out for a walk with my sister. When I came home my husband was building a fire in his burn barrel. What a treat that was because we sat outside most of the morning and saw the first snow flakes fall. After it started to come down pretty good and the dogs were worn out from playing outside we went inside for most of the day.
Saturday - Pretty much another lazy day and I am here for it! The sun was out so I did go for a long walk. We walked around looking at all the animal tracks. My son has a project that was due Friday and luckily he got a snow day because he still has a lot of work to do on it! Maxden is feeling better and Camden went to a friends house to play in the snow. He is my big, little kid -- I love it! He has been out playing in the snow the most. I am heading out of town Sunday with a good photography friend of mine for our annual business retreat. So I also spent the day packing and preparing for the trip.
I hope you had a wonderful week! I am on a business retreat for part of next week. I have a handful of sessions this coming weekend but the week days are full of meeting with some amazing business owners I connected with recently. I can't wait to find out more about what they do. Talk soon.
