My Photography Bucket List Shoots
Hearing from photographers in my community about their dream shoots was incredibly inspiring. Researching their ideas and locations got me thinking about my own bucket list. While I have a few travel destinations in mind, here are some realistic and exciting photography sessions I hope to capture this year:
-
One-Year Smash Cake Session – It's been a while since I’ve done a smash cake session, but I used to love them! I’d love to bring this fun milestone session back.
-
Rainy Day Portraits – A playful session with rain boots, rain jackets, and splashing puddles to capture pure childhood joy.
-
Imagination Photography – A creative session incorporating digital artistry to craft magical, dreamlike scenes.
-
Best Friends Session for Adults – A fun, heartwarming session that celebrates lifelong friendships.
-
Vow Renewal – I photographed one a few years ago and loved it. While I don’t shoot many weddings, I’d love to capture a couple in their wedding attire again.
-
Dance Photography – Instead of stage shots, I’d love to create dance portraits in an urban downtown setting or a serene ballet-inspired shoot in nature.
-
Photos Under a Weeping Willow – I photographed under a weeping willow years ago, but now with more experience, I’d love to revisit this dream location.
-
Horse Photography – Capturing the bond between horse lovers and their horses in a lifestyle farm setting.
-
VW Bus Photoshoot – I’ve been eyeing a rental company that offers VW Buses. It may be overdone, but it’s something I’d love to do at least once!
-
Romantic Boat Session – Think Nicholas Sparks-inspired portraits on the water, capturing love and serenity.
My Long-Term Photography Dream Shoots
Beyond my achievable goals for this year, there are a few bucket list shoots I’m manifesting for the future:
-
Underwater Photography – I’ve always been fascinated by underwater photography (I even lost an iPhone attempting it!). This will require special equipment, but it’s a dream worth pursuing.
-
Antelope Canyon, AZ – The swirling sandstone formations and breathtaking light are truly mesmerizing.
-
Tulip Fields in the Netherlands – The vibrant colors and stunning landscapes have always caught my eye.
-
Charleston, SC – This charming city isn’t too far from home, but photographing client sessions here would be a welcomed challenge.
-
The Colosseum in Rome – The architecture and history make it an unforgettable photography destination.
Photography is a journey, and these dream shoots keep my creativity alive. Which of these resonates with you the most? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
